Kingston Shores-The Royale Palms and Hilton

The Hilton Hotel was one of the first buildings to be built in the Arcadian Shores section of Myrtle Beach in the early 1970's. The property to the south of the Hilton was formerly called the Arrowhead campground until the purchase in 1986 by an English company, the Rank Organization. Thus, the names throughout Kingston having all English names such as cities and parks. Rank developed Kingston Plantation as a 145 acre "Planned Community" and was recognized by the Governor as one of the finest planned communities in the state. Rank sold Kingston Plantation in 1996 to a REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) company called Felcor who went into partnership with the Hilton Hotel chain to further develop and manage rentals in Kingston. When Felcor bought the property, the hotel in Kingston Plantation was a Radisson Hotel and the brand was changed to Embassy Suites, as Felcor is a leading owner of Embassy Suites Hotels in the country.

At the time, the property occupied by the Hilton Hotel eventually changed over to a Wyndham Hotel and had lost much of the "luster" it had attained in earlier years. Felcor and Hilton decided in the early 2000's to purchase the hotel and they made extensive renovations in the re-branding to the Hilton Hotel. Plans were made to develop a new tower to the south of the Hilton, the Royale Palms and construction began in 2005 and finished in 2007.

One of the perks for owners and guests of Kingston is the fact that many of the amenities such as restaurants, bars, and pools are shared in the same way as in Kingston Plantation. For the developers/owners, the expansion of a new 20,000 sq. ft. conference center adds more to the mix in regards to the convention business at Kingston Plantation. All in all, the addition is proving to be a great bonus to everyone. The rentals in the Royale Palms tower are some of the best in the area. What really sets the building apart, however, are the luxurious appointments and the spaciousness of the condominiums. The smallest residence is 1660 htd. sq. ft. and the largest is well over 2000 htd. sq. ft.   I will feature listings on this site that will show the interiors but, for now, I want you to enjoy the "growing up" of this building to completion.
